What it means

Titles once given to Israel at Sinai are given to the church. Identity is corporate and purposeful: chosen, priestly, holy, His, and called to tell of the One who did it.

Peter writes to scattered believers who felt like exiles. He gives them Exodus 19 and Isaiah 43 as their own.
